As the show is preparing the premiere of its fourth and final season, the streamer has announced a spinoff titled Freeridge. The female-focused spinoff will follow a new group of friends from the fictional California city where On My Block is set, who “may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse kicking off an unforgettable adventure.”

Re-teaming for Freeridge are On My Block co-creators Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft. Joining the team are Jamie Uyeshiro and Jamie Dooner on the new project. Uyeshiro, Gonzalez, and Haft will serve as co-creators, co-showrunners, and executive producers, while Iungerich and Dooner act as co-creators and executive producers.

Starring Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, and Diego Tinoco, On My Block is a coming-of-age story about four bright, street-savvy friends navigating their way through high school in the gritty South Central Los Angeles, trying to get their friend out of a gang, and having friendship turn into something more.

The first three seasons of On My Block are available to stream on Netflix right now, with the premiere of Season 4 coming on October 4th.
