According to Variety, Pascal Sid and Julien Lacombe (pictured) are to direct BEHIND THE WALLS, which they tout as the first French live-action feature shot in 3D.

The film, budgeted at 3.7 million Euros, is being produced by Paris-based Sombrero Films’ genre label Studio Mad. The 1922-set fantasy thriller is about a young novelist who goes to the countryside to write a book and falls victim to terrifying hallucinations and nightmares.

MK2, which has converted its entire theater circuit to digital, will handle theatrical and international sales. Canal Plus has pre-bought the film.

I’ll say this much, I would love to see a truly effective 3D horror flick. I’m not against the format as long as it’s showing me some really cool shit.
