Full trailer for Red Lights with Cillian Murphy, Robert DeNiro, and Sigourney Weaver

The first full-length, English-language trailer for Rodrigo Cortes’ (BURIED) RED LIGHTS is now online. Starring Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, and Robert DeNiro, the supernatural thriller recently screened at Sundance to some pretty good acclaim.

Check out the trailer below:

I’m not into the barrage of supernatural movies as they seem to be a dime a dozen these days, but this looks very promising to me. The three main actors are all exceptional and Cortes has shown some great skill at creating some genuine tension (BURIED wasn’t perfect, but Cortes definitely shot the hell out of a movie that took place in a box).

I can’t think of a movie that’s really tackled the “supposed” psychics who communicate with the dead before, so it’s a ripe concept to exploit. I think its a much more compelling concept than the simple “this place is haunted” concept. If it’s a success I’m sure it’ll be beaten like a dead horse, complete with found footage movies, etc.

Either way, this looks like a damn fine thriller to me. No release date has been set yet, but expect an announcement soon.
