Game of Death Sebastien Landry Laurence "Baz" Morais

Two and a half years have passed since Sebastien Landry and Laurence "Baz" Morais' film GAME OF DEATH had its world premiere at the SXSW festival, and it has continued making the festival rounds since then. There's no word on when the film will get a proper release – but a trailer and poster have arrived online now. So that has to be a good sign, right?

Written by Landry, Morais, Edouard H. Bond, and Philip Kalin-Hajdu, GAME OF DEATH is described as "a schlocky gore-horror comedy plump with exploding heads, torrents of blood and torn apart torsos." It's said to be what it would be like if JUMANJI met NATURAL BORN KILLERS – and if the Jumanji game made its players kill people.

The official synopsis:

Kill or be killed is the golden rule of the Game of Death. Sucks for seven millennials who ignored that rule. Now each one's head will explode unless they kill someone. Will they turn on each other to survive, or will this sunny day be the last for the innocent people of their middle-of-nowhere town?

I wasn't sure if I was on board or not until I heard the movie features exploding heads. Now I have to watch it.

The film stars Sam Earle, Victoria Diamond, Emelia Hellman, Catherine Saindon, Nick Serino, Erniel Baez D., Thomas Vallieres, and Jane Hackett.

Co-writer Philip Kalin-Hajdu produced GAME OF DEATH with Pierre-Alexandre Bouchard, Mathias Bernard, and Antoine Disle. Michael Kraetzer and Nicolás Onetti served as associate producers.

Check out the poster and trailer for GAME OF DEATH below, and we'll let you know when there's any information on a release date.
