Gareth Edwards’ Monsters gets a smoky new poster

We just scored a new one-sheet for Gareth Edwards’ highly-anticipated indie horror flick MONSTERS, which has been drawing comparisons to DISTRICT 9 ever since it burst onto the scene earlier this year. The poster won’t dissuade anyone from making those comparisons, as it’s pretty clearly inspired by last summer’s unexpected hit. That’s okay though, because in reality, Edwards’ flick is a different kind of, er, monster.

Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after new life forms began to appear there and half of Mexico was quarantined as an “Infected Zone.”

Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain “the creatures”… The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

MONSTERS opens on OCTOBER 29th courtesy of Magnet Releasing.
