Sandworms. You hate em…I hate em myself!
Question is folks, would you love or hate a BEETLEJUICE sequel? Well, it appears original star Geena Davis (below) has expressed interest in partaking in such a sequel during a recent interview with Moviehole. Check it out…
While pimping her new film ACCIDENTS HAPPEN in Australia, Davis was asked point blank about the long-rumored Tim Burton sequel:
“It’s funny, [another journalist] just asked me about a sequel to Beetlejuice – which, though I haven’t heard anything about it, might be interesting.” She beamed “I would do that!”
About the characters being met more than two decades later, Davis ruminated:
“Thing is, do ghosts age? Wouldn’t we be stuck in the age we were? Alec [Baldwin] and I would have to look as we did then – who knows, maybe we could? I better get in touch with Tim Burton.”
Okay, so perhaps the most pertinent question would be to ask if this sucker will ever get made. Although a script called BEETLJUICE GOES HAWAIIAN by Jonathan Gems made the rounds back in the early 90s, the last real inside rumblings of a BEETLEJUICE sequel came back in 2005 when JoBlo’s very own Chris Gaede interviewed the man, the myth himself, Michael Keaton. Re-visit that shite HERE and see how interested “The Ghost With the Most” was in a making a return to the big screen.
Until we hear more on the matter, let your own voice fill in the void!
