It turns out that everyone jumped to conclusions about who would be playing the new “Bond girl” in the upcoming 22nd installment of the James Bond series. When it was confirmed that Gemma Arterton had joined the cast, many assumed she would be playing the “Bond girl” role. Not so, apparently. Sony/MGM announced today that HITMAN star Olga Kurylenko will be playing the female lead in BOND 22. Olga will play Camille who, according to the release, “challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper’s betrayal.” Kurylenko certainly fits the bill for a Bond girl – tall, sexy, exotic, sexy…did I say sexy yet? Filming on BOND 22 is currently underway with Kurylenko joining Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, Giancarlo Giannini and Mathieu Amalric. Marc Forster (THE KITE RUNNER) directs from a script by Paul Haggis, Neil Purvis and Robert Wade. The still untitled Bond film is scheduled for release on November 7th.
