George Lucas praises Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi

So I got my tickets to see THE LAST JEDI at The Grove midnight tonight, and I'm so hyped! In fact, I can't imagine being more hyped than I already him! However, it seems like I might explode with hype, as none other than George Lucas himself has stated that Rian Johnson's THE LAST JEDI "was beautifully made." and that he talked complimentary with Johnson after his screening.

This is great news! Especially after George Lucas was very critical of THE FORCE AWAKENS, stating, "They wanted to do a retro movie. I don’t like that. I like — every movie, I worked very hard to make them completely different, with different planets, with different spaceships — you know, to make it new". So it seems that THE LAST JEDI is going to be more unique, which is great! I love the characters of Rey, Finn, and Poe – but like Lucas – I hated how much it cribbed from the original trilogy. This makes me even more excited for tonight!
