Disney's live-action adaptation of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is poised to be the most popular iteration yet, featuring the likes of Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and a slew of other great actors. In preparation, Disney is re-releasing the classic cartoon on Blu-ray and with it, a sneak peak at the upcoming film. You can see a bit of the featurette below, which includes a table read with some ridiculously good-looking people.
I don't agree with Bill Condon's take about the "technology being ready", but I do think he can deliver a fine live-action version of this classic tale. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was never my favorite, but the music is among the best ever written for an animated film. The cast is so right for this film it's disgusting, so I'm excited to see a more in-depth look on the upcoming fairy tale.
