Get sucked into The Sand with Jamie Kennedy on October 13th

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

There are two subterranean creature features being released next month, and SCREAM's Jamie Kennedy stars in both of them. The fun begins when Kennedy goes to battle with Graboids in TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES, which hits DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD on October 6th. Just one week later, the actor will be seen facing off with a different sort of underground monster in Monarch Home Entertainment's October 13th release THE SAND.

THE SAND is described as an homage to classic '80s B-horror movies and its story

follows a group of hung-over twenty-somethings who awake to a beating sun, and a seemingly carnivorous beach that devours anything with a heartbeat that touches the sand.

Kennedy's co-stars include Mitchel Musso and Brooke Butler.

Producer Gato Scatena says,

"This movie was an intentional effort to take a beloved and niche genre, and elevate the story above contemporary expectations. We're proud of this one. It's in the classic creature-feature wrapping paper, but contains above-average character arcs formulated by the writers [Alex Greenfield & Ben Powell], and tailored execution by our director and DP [Isaac Gabaeff and Matt Wise respectively]."

Sounds promising to me. I am a huge fan of the TREMORS franchise, I'm looking forward to part 5 with great anticipation, and because of my appreciation for those films I'll also watch any movie I come across that has a similar concept. BLOOD BEACH, MONGOLIAN DEATH WORM, SAND SHARKS, etc. So it's a given that I will be checking out THE SAND as well.
