A week from tomorrow (Nov. 22), J.J. Abrams’ SUPER 8 hits DVD and Blu-ray. As such, the fine folks behind the official SUPER 8 Twitter account have put together a nifty little promotion for lucky fans to win a copy of the film early. And not just that…copies signed by Abrams himself.

Via the “Hide & Tweet” campaign, autographed copies of the film will be hidden various cities, in various locations. A series of clues to said locations will be given on the official Twitter account, and those who keep the closest tabs will be able to piece together the puzzle and win the prize.

Here’s the official presser:

The wait for director J.J. Abrams’ sensational coming-of-age story SUPER 8 to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD is almost over…but fans will have a chance to get their hands on early copies signed by the director in a nationwide “Hide & Tweet” event. The DVD/Blu-ray combo pack will be hidden in cities across the U.S. and clues to their locations will be distributed via the film’s @Super8Movie Twitter account and Super8Tweet.com starting November 14. Fans can use the Super8Tweet.com microsite to piece together tweeted clues about where to find a copy of the film autographed by the director and additional mystery prizes. Anyone who finds the prize can post photos on Twitter using the hashtag #Super8Movie.

Not a bad way to get an invaluable piece of memorabilia, is it? So what the hell are you waiting for, skip over to the Official SUPER 8 Twitter page and get busy.
