There's been a heavy amount of skepticism about the casting of Lex Luthor ever since Jesse Eisenberg's name was announced. Certainly proving to be a younger actor than what most were expecting, there's no doubts that Eisenberg can bring the acting chops, but can he fill the shoes of Lex Luthor? Well, one thing's for sure; he can definitely fill that bald head. Here's are first look at the man "in character" in all of his bold glory. Eat it, Gene Hackman!
Zack Snyder on Jesse Eisenberg‘s Lex Luthor:
He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure. Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.
Warner Bros. casting, as far as the DC line-up is concerned, has fans divided. That’s something that really excites me. It’s too early too tell how the actors will do in their roles, but it’s obvious that WB is not afraid to think outside of the box. Marvel has been fine-tuning their craft in the realm of comic book cinema for years now, so DC is coming out guns blazing. It’s either really going to pay off or be a grand disaster. Either way, I can’t wait to see what they have in-store. As for Eisenberg playing Luthor…my gut says he’ll deliver.
