Apparently The X-Files star Gillian Anderson had no clue about Paul Feig‘s plans for an all-female Ghostbusters reboot, but after checking out the project, says she wants to star in the film. It all started when while speaking in a recent Reddit AMA, Gillian Anderson was asked if she was interested in the reboot.

My inner nerd loves the idea of Gillian Anderson appearing in a new GHOSTBUSTERS movie, however I still think an all-female team is unnecessary. It’s not like I’m a member of the “He-Man Woman Haters Club,” but I just don’t see why it can’t at least be a mixed gender team.
There have been recent talks of a third X-FILES movie, and Gillian Anderson was also asked to give an update on the project, however all she would say is, “Keep your ears to the ground.”
