Glass, Anchorman get perfect mashup in teaser for M. Night Shyamalan’s Brick

GLASS is currently breaking out at the box office as its global haul cracks $100 million, proving to be a hit despite the lackluster reviews. While the intense thriller brings back James McAvoy’s Kevin Wendell Crumb/The Horde from SPLIT, a new mashup from Funny or Die wants you to imagine a movie that replaces him and the vicious Beast with none other than Pants Party aficionado Brick Tamland from the ANCHORMAN series. The trailer for “M. Night Shyamalan’s Brick” shows Tamland and his own set of quirks and skills, all of which makes him the perfect, most-menacing ally for Samuel L. Jackson’s Elijah Price in his fight against Bruce Willis’ David Dunn. They always underestimate the lamp lovers.

Now, while the idea of throwing Brick (Steve Carell) into the mix may seem like it would make for a random hodgepodge of clips, it’s pretty insane how well Brick’s many clips and lines from the two ANCHORMAN movies mesh with the main trailer for GLASS. Instead of seeking out Crumb and his many personalities, Jackson’s Price/Mr. Glass hunts down the infamous “The Brick,” a crazed individual with tremendous strength, capable of hurling tridents as if they were lamps. Seemingly docile at one moment, when unleashed he turns into a crazed, hissing, butter-eating maniac. The world may have mocked him when he screamed “You’re all gonna die!” in that van years ago, but soon the world will know to fear the name Brick.

The parody trailer is pretty hysterical when we see just how well Sarah Paulson’s and Jackson’s lines mesh with clips of Brick – with all his oddball moments making him seem like a true psychopath. Certainly, there are numerous moments that will make you burst out laughing, and you will never be able to watch the movie the same way again when you see Brick saying “I like your hair; it looks like wet popcorn” spliced with a clip of a smirking Jackson. Seriously, why couldn’t this just be the movie?

GLASS is in theaters now.
