Gloria Lynne Henry returns as Rocky in Phantasm: Ravager

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With the fourth entry in the PHANTASM series, PHANTASM: OBLIVION, having come out way back in 1998 and attempts to make another sequel having repeatedly fallen through over the years, fans (or phans) of the franchise were beginning to resign themselves to the idea that there would never be a PHANTASM 5. Then came the news, out of nowhere, that a new sequel, PHANTASM: RAVAGER, had already been filmed.

It's been nearly a year and a half since we first heard about RAVAGER, which was written and directed by David Hartman, under the supervision of series creator Don Coscarelli, and we still know very little about it. While we continue to anxiously wait to hear when the movie might be released into the world, we do have some news on the cast, thanks to the Facebook page of Gigi Bannister, wife of heroic, quad-barrel shotgun-wielding ice cream man Reggie Bannister.

We've known that Reggie Bannister, Angus Scrimm, A. Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury, and Kathy Lester would be reprising their roles from the original PHANTASM, and now Mrs. Bannister has revealed that a character introduced in PHANTASM III: LORD OF THE DEAD will be returning as well – Gloria Lynne Henry is back as Rocky, the tough, zombie killing woman who Reggie tried to seduce with a very memorable line.

I didn't expect to see Rocky face off with The Tall Man ever again, but it's nice to know that RAVAGER will have a bit of LORD OF THE DEAD representation aside from the characters who were in other installments.

Hopefully it won't be much longer before we can see PHANTASM: RAVAGER, but in the meantime we can all watch the trailer a few dozen more times:
