Zooey Deschanel has been everywhere these days: on magazine stands, performing at SXSW as one half of indie folk-duo She & Him, in multiplexes this summer in THE HAPPENING, and in my bedroom. Obviously that latter Zooey isn’t the real one, but the life-size Deschanel doll I made out of Styrofoam and pipe-cleaner looks pretty similar to the real thing, so it counts. BELOW you’ll find even more Deschanel in the trailer for THE GO-GETTER, which actually couldn’t find any distribution last year, but will finally be released on June 6 in limited release. It costars Lou Taylor Pucci (THUMBSUCKER) and Jena Malone (DONNIE DARK) in a coming-of-age road movie that looks deliriously whimsical, like a Fellini movie made for the Pitchfork set. Pucci’s character steals a car and goes on an odyssey to search for his estranged brother, after the death of their mother. Check it.
