Godzilla vs Kong officially wraps shooting

A few weeks back we passed along the update that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' next entry in their MonsterVerse GODZILLA VS. KONG had snagged a new release date, getting bumped up from its original May 29, 2020 premiere and will now be in theatres on March 13, 2020. This means we're going to get to see the monster mash unleashed just ten months after director Michael Dougherty's upcoming GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, which hits this May.

And the new release date for GODZILLA VS KONG makes sense as today we have word that the movie has officially wrapped filming over in Australia. Nice! I don't know about you but I can't wait to see what Adam Wingard (who is known for lower budget fright flicks such as YOU'RE NEXT and THE GUEST) is planning to bring out with a massive budget on his side. I guess we'll see sooner than we thought! GODZILLA VS. KONG will feature the Titans beating the ass off one another for 2hrs and change. But if you need to know more about the motion picture, here is the official synopsis:

In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.

GODZILLA VS. KONG is directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay written by Terry Rossio (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN). The film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza Gonzalez, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Demian Bichir, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Shun Oguri. Once set to come out on May 29, 2020, GODZILLA VS. KONG will now be in theatres on March 13, 2020.
