Some good news for those fans of the original FRIGHT NIGHT (myself included), the film will be coming to Blu-ray at the end of the year!
That’s right folks, Twilight Time has acquired the Columbia Library for Blu-ray, and included in the list of releases was the film. How awesome is that? No word yet on what sort of upgrade the film will get, or what sort of extra features.
The titles being released will be limited to 3000, and available exclusively through ScreenArchives.com.
Grover Crisp (Sony Pictures Executive Vice President for Asset Management, Film Restoration and Digital Mastering stated: “Our collaboration with Twilight Time will allow us to make available for Blu-ray release some of our library’s most collectible titles in a way fans have been asking for: restored and re-mastered with attention to detail and quality.”
Synopsis: For young Charlie Brewster, nothing could be better than an old horror movie late at night. Two men move in next door, and for Charlie with his horror movie experience, there can be no doubt that their strange behavior is explained by the fact that they are a vampire and his undead day guardian. The only one who can help him hunt them down is a washed-up actor, Peter Vincent, who hosts Charlie’s favorite TV show, Fright Night. Vincent doesn’t really believe that vampires exist, but does it for the money…
The film will be available on December 13th, with only 3000 available you better get in quick. The film stars Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse, Stephen Geoffreys, Jonathan Stark, Dorothy Fielding and Roddy McDowall. It was directed by Tom Holland.
