Gotham’s Natalie Alyn Lind cast in key role for Fox’s Untitled X-Men pilot

I swear, if we don't get an official title for Fox and Marvel's Untitled X-Men pilot soon, I'm going to lose my damn mind. Here, I'll even do my part to expedite the process by offering a few suggestions. How about X-MEN: EXILED, or X-MEN: OUTCAST? Not too shabby, huh? You can just make my check out to "Cash", Fox and Marvel, please and thank you. I'm just saying, a confirmed title would really go a long way at this stage of the game.

Okay, Steve, let's try curbing your hollow nerd tantrum for a few moments and just get to the news already.

Today, Marvel and Fox have announced that GOTHAM and THE GOLDBERGS actress Natalie Alyn Lind has been cast in a key role for the forthcoming X-Men-related program. Lind will star as Lauren, one of the many children involved in the show's story about a group of mutants who are forced to go into hiding after a harsh government crackdown on mutants arises. Lauren is being described as a "smart, pretty, popular, and organized" character who is far beyond her years both emotionally as well as academically.

While Lauren might not sounds like the most exciting character of the bunch, Natalie Alyn Lind has proven herself to be quite the actress in recent times, and I'm confident that there's more than meets the eye to Lauren's streotypically-described exterior. And hey, possessing a heightened intelligence in the mutant community is nothing to dismiss. If for nothing else, it will be good to have a level-headed character in the mix when things take a turn for the dynamic and dangerous.

Matt Nix, Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will act as executive produces on the project. Meanwhile, Lind will join fellow GOTHAM actress Jamie Chung in the making of the pilot, as well as Sean Teale, who has been cast in the brand-new mutant role of Marcos Diaz AKA Eclipse for the upcoming show. Additionally, TRUE BLOOD's Stephen Moyer was also recently added to the roster as Reed, the "ambitious attorney trying to balance the demands of his job at the DA's office with his responsibilities to his family."

As we've previously stated the pilot is expected to start filming on March 13, 2017. However, if you're burning for some X-Men-related and R-rated carnage, be sure to check out LOGAN when it slashes into theaters on March 3, 2017
