News about Fox and Marvel's planned X-Men pilot keeps coming, yet we still don't have an official title for this thing. You'd think they'd want to lock that down, right? Regardless, it's been confirmed today that GOTHAM actress Jamie Chung, who portrays the character Valerie Vale on the outrageously goofy but still tons of fun Batman-related television program, will be joining the cast as a series regular for Matt Nix and Bryan Singer's forthcoming X-Men project.
Ms. Chung will step into the role of Clarice Fong AKA Blink, a sardonic and spirited mutant with the power of teleportation. Described as a relatively unstable character, Clarice will still be processing a string of traumatic events when she enters the show in search of a new place to call home.
To clarify, this new series will focus on two human parents and their mutant child, who are forced to flee from the comfort of their home after their secret is discovered by a shadowy government organization. Once escaped, the family is expected to encounter a group of underground mutants who will usher them into the covert underbelly of mutant life on the run.
Matt Nix, Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will serve as executive produces for 20th TV and Marvel Television on this project.
As we've previously reported, the pilot is expected to start filming on March 13, 2017. However, if you're itching for some X-Men-related action, be sure to check out LOGAN when it roars into theaters on March 3, 2017.
