Gothic Horror abounds in trailer & poster for The Lodgers

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Hooray for the return of gothic horror! I don't know about you guys, but one of my favorite sub-genres of the supernatural thriller, and especially the ghost sub-genre, is that of gothic horror.

From films like THE INNOCENTS and (relatively) more recently THE OTHERS a ghost story is made three-fold better when there are castles, manors, and fog present. Lots of fog.

With all of that that in mind, today we'd like to share the poster and trailer for the upcoming Brian O’Malley film, THE LODGERS, which from the looks of the trailer seems to be a spooky good time just waiting to hit us horror fans within (hopefully) the next year. I'm all about those "watery" ghosts.

THE LODGERS, which will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, but for all of us not able to attend such a prestigious event, the flick's spooky trailer will just have to do for now.

You can check out the trailer and the poster for THE LODGERS below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below, or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

THE LODGERS synopsis:

A gothic ghost story about orphaned twins Edward and Rachel who share a crumbling manor in 1920’s rural Ireland. But they are not alone. They share the house with unseen entities who control them with three absolute rules. As separate fates draw them apart, the twins must face the terrible truth about their family’s ghostly tormentors.

THE LODGERS is directed by Brian O’Malley from a script by David Turpin and stars Charlotte Vega, Bill Milner, David Bradley, and Eugene Simon.
