Gozu/Porn Star restocked

A shot from Takashi Miike’s 2003 film GOZU!

Some cool news has come out of the Epoch Cinema camp for all you hardened fans of either Takashi Miike (let’s face it, who isn’t?) or Shane Ryan.

Yep. Word is Miike’s clinical horror-crime film GOZU and Shane Ryan’s microscopic budgeted AMERICAN PORN STAR KILLER (made for $45, really?) are both catching preferential DVD restocking treatment come December 8th, 2009. Plenty of time to snatch and serve it up to all of your macabre loving relatives for Xmas!

As far as specs go, Miike’s GOZU will be re-released in a brand new special 2-disc edition. The new DVD will keep the special features from the original release, including interviews by Eli Roth (“Hostel”), Guillermo Del Toro (“Hellboy”) and Miike, along with a featurette, still galleries and more, but will now feature 2 HOURS of never before seen behind the scenes footage.

Ryan’s flick, which has since spawned 2 sequels and an out-and-out 3-D parody, looks to make amends for its incessant unavailability, as AMATEUR PORN STAR KILLER is finally back (though it may take up to week to appear listed in stock on sites). No word an exact bonus material.

I’ll admit, I’m amped for the GOZU news, but having never seen APSK – I can’t quite vouch for that baby!

What are some of your thoughts?
