Gravy for Biggie

After all that noise about Sean Kingston playing Biggie, which I’m pretty sure was started by Kingston himself, it appears now that Fox have gone and signed up Jamal ‘Gravy’ Woolard to play the legendary rapper. The film will be called NOTORIOUS and will co-star Angela Bassett (Voletta Wallace), Derek Luke (Puff Daddy/Diddy) and Anthony Mackie (Tupac). If you ain’t street like I or Charlie Sheen are, then let me fill your ass in.

Recognise: Christopher Wallace was a Brooklyn born rapper who went by the name Biggie Smalls, on account of a fictional gangster, and homeboy’s inflated stature. He grew up during the 1980s and started dealing crack during the boom, because he was just too poor to be able to otherwise afford a room. He went on to be a mad famous rhymer and all-round cool cat, until he got gunned down in cold blood, result of a drive-by shooting and the bullets from a gat. Ten years later and there’s a fear people will forget that MC, such a good friend to Diddy, even though every time he opens his mouth he dedicates whatever comes out, to Biggie.
