In a pretty extensive interview with Guillermo del Toro over at Collider, the HELLBOY director talks about… well, just about everything, from THE HOBBIT to HELLBOY 3 to MOUTAINS OF MADNESS and more. The most fascinating bit of info, however, comes when he talks about his vision for FRANKENSTEIN, which is one of the approximately 500 projects he’s involved with at the moment. According to del Toro, Doug Jones – of course the man who played Faun in PAN’S LABYRINTH and Abe in the HELLBOY movies – will be portraying the monster in FRANKENSTEIN.

“I’m thinking it, I’m making it happen. We’re doing tests, we did all the sculpting already, it’s completely done, the body, the face, all the parts. The nuts, which are something to behold. We’re doing a test with Doug very soon.”

The screenplay for FRANKENSTEIN is not ready, del Toro goes on to mention. There are also at least three other projects that are closer to getting made than FRANKENSTEIN, so who knows when we might hear anything definitive regarding it. However, we all know that Guillermo is about to announce something big at Comic-Con (VAN HELSING?), so stay tuned for much more news on that front.
