Scout, which is no stranger to genre fare (SESSION 9, TRANSSIBERIAN), will fork over cash for the development of slasher screenplays…with top execs Eric Rob and Michael Williams set to spearhead. The first slasher flick on the docket? Something called NOTHING TO FEAR.
NOTHING TO FEAR, written by Jonathan W.C. Mills, is a horror/thriller that follows a young family as it tries to reinvent itself by moving to a small town in rural Kansas. The family is tormented by an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust.
Let me go ahead and give a big fat “F*ck Yes!”
With all the horror dreck and dross released these days, I for one am absolutely smitten someone like Slash is willing to pay homage to great horror of old. Lord knows we need some hardcore 70s/80s style slasher joints back in effect (just ask Walkuski and myself what we’re clocking for 31 days of horror this month!)
But how does this news sit with y’all? Down with what Slash is trying to attempt or not really feeling it? And seeing how Scout produced two of Brad Anderson’s films, how long do you think it takes them to cast an offer to the skilled director about making one of these slasher joints?
