Halloween Ends isn’t really going to be the end of the Halloween franchise. As long as there is still money to be made off of Michael Myers, we’re still going to be getting new Halloween movies. But this movie probably is going to be the last time Jamie Lee Curtis ever plays franchise heroine Laurie Strode – and in a new promo video, Curtis gets choked up while talking about her last day on the Halloween Ends set. The day she said goodbye to a character she has been playing, off and on, for forty-four years. You can watch the promo video right here:
Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green directed Halloween Ends from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier. Curtis is joined in the cast by Andi Matichak as Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, and Michael O’Leary as Doctor Mathis. James Jude Courtney reprises the role of Michael Myers, and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle will also make a cameo appearance.
As he did for the previous two movies, John Carpenter is composing the score for Halloween Ends with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. Copies of the score are available for pre-order.
Here’s the official synopsis for Halloween Ends:
Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy Boys, Virgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.
Halloween Ends is getting a theatrical release on October 14th, but will also be available to watch on the Peacock streaming service on that day. (For viewers with a paid subscription to Peacock Premium or Premium Plus.)
