Hanks saw TS3 first

Instead of sending Tom Hanks the script for TOY STORY 3 to make sure he was down with voicing Woody again, they went a different way:

“They did an interesting thing on this one. They did not send us a script. They showed us a complete story reel of the entire movie, with storyboards moving from one to the next, and the people up at Pixar recorded some voices with some music and sound effects. Tim Allen and John Ratzenberger and I went in a movie theatre, watched the reel and said, ‘This is great, let’s get to work!'”

Hanks is currently finishing up his work on the movie. You can check the full interview out HERE. Although, it’s pretty important to note that this approach cannot be applied to all circumstances. For example, instead of seducing a girl in a bar, you probably couldn’t show her a video of you dry-humping your pillow, and then ask her if she wanted to get involved. I’m not a chick and I don’t have any empirical evidence but I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t work at all.
