HANSEL & GRETEL have been busy getting people to tag along on their demented journey… A few days ago we reported that Swedish hottie Ingrid Bolsø Berdal had joined the cast; a few days before that it was Famke Janssenn being brought aboard the Tommy Wirkola film. Now we’ve just got word that Peter Stormare has been added to the cast the villainous town sheriff ‘Berringer’.

Stormare has made a career out of playing bad guys – at least here in the states. Most memorably he was the cold-hearted thug in the Coen Bros.’ FARGO; he was also featured as Satan in CONSTANTINE, played a sicko snuff filmmaker in 8MM and, in a role that this new one may echo, a wacky Italian officer in THE BROTHERS GRIMM (who of course created Hansel and Gretel as we know them).

With Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton taking the lead HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS chronicles the fairy-tale siblings 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch bounty hunters.

The film, being shot in 3D, will come out on MARCH 22, 2012.
