Woody Harrelson has revealed to MTV that he has taken a starring role in the upcoming Roland Emmerich epic 2012. He also goes on to describe the character he’s playing, but don’t worry if you don’t have time to read it, he’s basically playing the exact same white male lead that is in every one of Emmerich’s films:
“I don’t know why they thought of me… But I like the idea… I play a guy who’s been talking for a long time, the whole world thinks he’s crazy… But he’s been talking that there’s gonna be hell to pay for what’s been going on ecologically and everything.”
I swear to God, every single one of Emmerich’s films could have been alternatively titled “I TOLD YOU SO, MR. PRESIDENT”. Unless for the first time ever, the guy spouting doomsday notions will be found wrong and to be just your garden variety lunatic. And if that is the case then yeah, Harrelson was definitely the man for the job. He weirds me out. I wouldn’t leave that guy to take care of the fake pets my cousins play tea-party with.
2012 also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Cusack, Amanda Peet and Thandie Newton. The film is about the Mayan calender’s ending in 2012 and the natural disasters that accompany it. Or something. I don’t know. I just watch this things because I hope Will Smith will pop out somewhere and welcome something to Earth.
