Harrison Ford to play a legendary reporter opposite Will Ferrell in Anchorman 2

Who knew that Harrison Ford had it in him? The legendary man known as Indiana Jones and Han Solo has only appeared in a handful of movies over the last decade, not many of which were very good. But, with the rumors that he would be returning for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, his bankability shot right back to the top. So, what better way to ease into a sequel with high expectations than to appear in another sequel with high expectations?

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Ford will play a “legendary anchor” similar to Tom Brokaw in ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES. While Ford is not exactly known for his comedies, his timing has always been perfect. He previously played an anchorman in the dreadful romantic comedy MORNING GLORY opposite Diane Keaton and Rachel McAdams.

Not much is known about Adam McKay‘s ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES, but adding Harrison Ford alongside Kristin Wiig to returning castmembers Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, there does not seem to be much missing from the movie. It remains to be seen exactly how significant a role Ford will play, but seeing him in this movie has doubled my interest in it. There was never a doubt I would be seeing ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES when it hits theaters later this year, but now I am buying advance tickets.
