Has the new Godzilla design been revealed? See it here!

Is this the new Godzilla? Could be…

Here’s the deal: Legendary Pictures, the production company behind the new GODZILLA reboot we told you about back in March, had a booth set up at Comic-Con which carried t-shirts with the above Godzilla design on them. Naturally, we’re all going to assume that this is what their Godzilla will look like. (Which would be very close to the classic design.)

But TwitchFilm.net is reporting Legendary is claiming the image is “not necessarily movie related”. Okay, what is it then? Are they just giving random t-shirts with Godzilla on them away for fun?

Perhaps Legendary is hedging their bets and not laying claim to the design in case the fans aren’t digging it. I, for one, would have to believe that hardcore fans of the giant lizard would absolutely get behind this, as it’s so close to what they know and love. How a modern interpretation of said design would play on the big screen remains to be seen if indeed this is what the big boy will look like.

All we know for sure is he won’t resemble the Tyrannosaurus on steroids version Roland Emmerich bitch-slapped us with back in 1998.
