Havok back for X-Men: DOFP? Plus more tweets from director Bryan Singer

Havok

Bryan Singer has been loading up on mutants left and right ever since X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST was announced. It's been kind of a guessing game of who will return from the original trilogy as well as X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and of course which new characters we might end up seeing in the flick.

One character from the previous films we haven't heard about is Alex Summers aka Havok (Lucas Till) but apparently the plasma blasting mutant might appear in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. I say might because while there is no confirmation from anyone involved with the film, someone who lives in Montreal had their picture taken with Lucas Till near where Bryan Singer is currently filming X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. I know it kind of sounds like a "My brother's best friend's sister's Mom told me…" situation but sometimes that's just how it works.

But combined with a report that James Marsden was seen last month traveling back from Montreal with Halle Berry and it looks like we could see both members of the Summers family in the movie. If true how might they explain the age difference between the two since their suppose to be brothers? One theory I read is that instead of being brothers, Alex Summers might turn out to be Scott Summers' father in the film. I would be OK with it but I'm not sure how some of the more hardcore fans would feel about this tweak to the characters.

As frequent and open Bryan Singer has been with his Twitter while filming X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, one would think he'd mention that Havok (and Cyclops) are back. Which means it's either not true or Singer wants it to kind of be a secret and therefore won't confirm or deny that the Summers brothers will be in the film. If I was a betting man though I'd wager that we will be seeing both characters in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

Speaking of Twitter, the director has released a couple of new images from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. One has the caption "Good Morning Vietnam" and looks like a rally for the controversial war, while the other is of Michael Fassbender as Magneto floating above the ground and in general looking boss.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will be released on July 18th, 2014.
