It’s not that long ago that Katherine Heigl was starring in direct-to-TV crap like EVIL NEVER DIES and VEGAS DICK. But ever since “Grey’s Anatomy” and perhaps more importantly strong early word off this summer’s KNOCKED UP, she’s got her choice of projects. She’s made her first choice and it’ll be the upcoming romantic comedy 27 DRESSES. The film, written by Aline Brosh McKenna (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA), follows a woman who’s served as a bridesmaid 27 times and is having a hard time with her latest installment – serving as the Maid of Honor for her sister who is marrying a guy she’s in love with. Yes it’s yet another I’m-conflicted-because-my-friend/sibling-is-marrying-my-dream-guy/girl movie. Anne Fletcher (STEP UP) will direct the film this May while Heigl is on hiatus from “Grey’s Anatomy.”
