Ever since five-times Bond actor Daniel Craig announced that Cary Joji Fukunaga's BOND 25 would be his last turn as the debonair super spy, fans of the character have been calling for several actors to take his place. The list of replacements has grown quite vast over the years, with stars such as Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, Eva Green, and Armie Hammer all having been named as possible contenders. For the moment, not a one of the aforementioned actors has been in serious contention for the part, though now it appears as if THOR and CABIN IN THE WOODS actor Chris Hemsworth would like to throw his hat in the ring.

Recently while speaking with the fitness magazine Balance, Hemsworth was asked about possibly straightening his cuff links for the role of 007. Not only did Hemsworth tell the outlet that he'd be game for the part, but he'd also mentioned that he already has the perfect audition tape thanks to Ron Howard's 2013 action-drama RUSH. In the biographical sports film, Hemsworth played James Hunt, an English race car driving lady-killer Lothario.

“When we were shooting ‘Rush’ someone had said that and I thought, ‘Cool, if this is my audition tape, then great,'” Hemsworth said. “I don’t think you’ll ever meet anyone who doesn’t want to have a crack at James Bond. I’d love to do it.”

Smartly enough, Hemsworth is being sure to keep his expectations in check, as he knows that his Marvel pedigree will only get him into so many doors un-carded.

“But that’s up to so many elements and is way beyond myself; it’s not one you can pitch yourself on to either,” Hemsworth said. “It’s something that the community of Bond fans, Barbara Broccoli and the whole crew there agree on, and it has to be a very organic decision from them. There have been a lot of names thrown out there and a lot of brilliant people can tackle that one.”

What do you think about the prospect of Hemsworth picking up Craig's suit and time as her royal majesty's intrepid super spy? Let us know in the comments section below, and be sure to check out Hemsworth when he stars as Thor in AVENGERS: ENDGAME this April 26th.
