MEN IN BLACK III has had all kinds of problems. Script problems, budget problems, giant-f*cking-trailer problems…but as we’ve seen in the past, all those problems won’t mean a hill of beans if MIB3 is actually a good film.
Now, I have no inside knowledge that MIB3 is a good film – it’s a mess by most accounts. But this new teaser trailer will probably have fans of the franchise anxious to see how the trilogy ends.
It’s mostly a lot of beats from the first two films – funky guns, Will Smith sassin’ people, weird aliens – until we learn that Tommy Lee Jones is dead (?) and Will Smith must go back in time to figure out what happened. And in about two seconds at the very end of the trailer (I won’t spoil the gag here) the movie looks like it could work.
