Heroes take on vampires and each other in Wolverine vs. Blade comic

Wolverine vs. Blade

Two of my favorite comic book characters are Marvel's raging mutant Wolverine and vampire slayer Blade – obviously I like heroes who chop up their enemies with sharp weapons. Those two characters are now set to clash in the one-shot comic book WOLVERINE VS. BLADE, which will reach store shelves this Wednesday, July 10th.

Written by Marc Guggenheim and boasting artwork by Dave Wilkins, with Travis Lanham handling the lettering, WOLVERINE VS. BLADE is a story that Guggenheim says has been ten years in the making. It's set "years ago" and has a very simple, secretive synopsis:

Two of the deadliest hunters ever to have stalked the night face off! Wolverine vs. Blade – 'nuff said!

This isn't the first time Wolverine and Blade have crossed paths, in fact the issue starts with the characters discussing something that happened in an issue of BLADE that was published in 2007 (and was written by Guggenheim). They start out fighting side-by-side, but apparently their alliance is going to fall apart along the way.

The cover and first few pages of WOLVERINE VS. BLADE are featured below, offering a preview of some bloody vampire slashing action that has earned the comic a parental advisory for mature content.
