Hobbs & Shaw cast get their wheels in new character posters

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The new entry in the FAST AND FURIOUS series, HOBBS & SHAW, may not have the whole crew back for the high-octane shenanigans, but it isn’t an FF movie without some killer wheels. While the first trailer for the movie was all about the fists and the conflicting personalities of Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Shaw the new character posters tease just as many slick wheels as it does big muscles. The muscles will be more prominent, however.

On Friday we got the first trailer for the upcoming summer blockbuster, while yesterday during the Super Bowl we got yet another small look with a shorter TV spot. Alongside Johnson and Statham are Idris Elba as the movie’s bad guy, Brixton, and Vanessa Kirby as Shaw’s sister, Hattie, and both of them get their own posters too. Jeez, who are they getting all these expensive vehicles from? Oprah?

Directed by David Leitch (DEADPOOL 2), HOBBS & SHAW marks the first spinoff in the FF series, with apparently more on the way. The first trailer made the movie come off as more of an action-comedy than a straight action flick as past movies, but it looks no less insane. The one major takeaway is the villain Brixton, who has used some sort of genetic editing to become a super strong, super fast, and super handsome superhuman, which is why the title duo are needed to save the day. If you're going to have a crazy premise may as well lean into it with crazy action, and this movie clearly has that in spades.

FAST AND FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW is in theaters August 2.
