Kevin Costner, who’s financing the upcoming comedy SWING VOTE with his own green, has added an impressive roster of names to the film’s cast. Dennis Hopper, Nathan Lane, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, George Lopez and newbie Madeline Carroll will all be joining Costner as he desperately panics about spending a shit-ton of his own cash to fund the film. Under director Joshua Michael Stern from a script he wrote with Jason Richman, in it, Costner plays a middle class single dad whose titular presidential election deciding vote thrusts him into the national spotlight (see, kids, this movie’ll show that one vote does make a difference!). Hopper and Grammer will play the Democratic and Republican candidates, respectively, with Lane and Tucci playing their campaign managers, respectively. Lopez will play the manager of a local TV station in a town lying in the center of the campaign trail. Shooting is scheduled for July 23rd in Albuquerque, N.M.
