South Africa is getting a dose of horror with NIGHT DRIVE, a flick that sounds vaguely like WOLF CREEK meets the immortal THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME. Screen Africa informs us that the Justin Head-directed film goes into production later this month.
NIGHT DRIVE is a gritty thriller/horror, set against the backdrop of the romantic African bushveld, where an eclectic mix of tourists is left stranded during a night drive. It is only when they realize that they are being hunted by a group of poachers that the terror truly begins. The film is set in the present day and over one night only.
The cast includes Corine Du Toit, Brandon Auret, Leroy Gopal, Greg Melvill-Smith, Clare Marshall, Yule Masiteng, David Sherwood, and Akin Omotoso
The lead actor, however, has not yet been cast. It’s said that he’ll be an international star. The plan is to release the film across the globe sometime in 2010.
