Bruce Payne opens a door to unspeakable horror in The Rizen

The Rizen Matt Mitchell

Genre regular and one-time WARLOCK Bruce Payne is among the cast that will have to deal with the results of occult experiments in the upcoming action horror film THE RIZEN.

Coming to VOD on January 2nd, courtesty of Uncork’d Entertainment, THE RIZEN was written and directed by Matt Mitchell and has the following synopsis:

The year is 1955. NATO and the Allied Forces have been conducting secret, occult experiments in a bid to win the Arms Race. They have finally succeeded, but what they have unleashed could tear our world apart. Now one woman must lead the only other two survivors past faceless horrors that threaten to kill or capture them at every turn. They are the only ones left who can fight to close a door that should never have been opened.

I have to commend Mitchell on his choice of decade – it's not often that you see films like this that are set in the 1950s these days. A lot of filmmakers would have moved it ten or more years into the past so this could be set during World War II.

Payne's co-stars include Laura Swift, Sally Phillips, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Tom Goodman Hill, and Adrian Edmondson.

The poster and trailer for THE RIZEN can be seen below. If you'd like to check out the full film, you'll be able to do so in just three and a half weeks.
