Cabin Fever: Patient Zero spreads its sales teaser

I think we can all agree that first thing anyone thought of after watching Eli Roth's CABIN FEVER was "franchise potential." Well, maybe not, but the producers of the film certainly did. If you remember correctly, Ti West got a crack at (and subsequently disowned) CABIN FEVER 2: SPRING FEVER a couple of years back. Now ALTITUDE and ABCS OF DEATH director Kaare Andrews is stepping up to the plate with the prequel CABIN FEVER: PATIENT ZERO. Even better-- we have the first teaser for it.

Okay, that may be a bit misleading. It's a "sales teaser" designed for the upcoming American Film Market. This means the clip reveals little of the film's plot, action, or footage in favor of thematic, hype-inducing imagery and narration. Still, it gives us an idea of what we can expect AND it entices potential buyers. It's win-win, baby.

The film already sports a decent cast in the way of Lydia Hearst, Jillian Murray (see below), Brando Eaton, Mitch Ryan and Sean Astin. Jake Wade Wall, whose resume includes THE HITCHER and WHEN A STRANGER CALLS remakes, wrote the script. You can check out that premise along with the trailer below.

A flesh-eating virus spreads throughout a cruise ship in the Caribbean after it crashes into an abandoned scientific research boat.

Extra Tidbit: Anyone else think this one would have been more relevant five years ago?
