STYD has heard whispers over at Sony Pictures that CANDYMAN may be the next horror franchise to hit the remake chopping block! You read that right, CANDYMAN. If Tony Todd was dead today, he’d be rolling around in his grave right now. But he’s not, so he’s probably just a titch pissed off.
Like the new NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST. being Robert Englund-less, the same is rumored to happen to Todd if a revamp of the series does take place… with a white guy, no less. Somehow that makes it that much worse.
Of course, at this point, NOTHING is official, everything is RUMOR and SPECULAION, but that doesn’t mean it ISN’T true, and when you sit back and think about it, with the remake craze hitting so many classic horror icons, redoing the Candyman is a logical step… a stupid and unnecessary step, but a logical step none the less.
