Catalina Sandino replacing Rosario Dawson in Incarnate

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Last month we learned that Jason Blum's Blumhouse Pictures was setting up the first installment of a potential franchise with the supernatural thriller INCARNATE, starring Aaron Eckhart. At that time we were hearing rumblings that SIN CITY actress Rosario Dawson was in negotiations to co-star alongside Eckhart in the Brad Peyton-helmed flick, but now THR is reporting that Catalina Sandino will be replacing Dawson, who had to leave the production due to scheduling issues.

Moreno broke into the industry with her acclaimed performance in 2004’s MARIA FULL OF GRACE, a role for which she earned an Oscar nomination. She most recently was one of the stars of FX’s crime show "The Bridge" and counts, among her feature credits, Steven Soderbergh’s two-part CHE films.

Scripted by Ronnie Christensen (DARK TIDE), INCARNATE will be directed by Brad Peyton and follows…

…an exorcist (Eckhart) who comes up against an evil from his past when he uses his supernatural skills to enter the subconscious of a nine-year-old boy who is possessed by a demon from his past.

Jason Blum will produce INCARNATE with Trevor Engelson, Couper Samuelson and Michael Seitzman executive producing. The movie is due to begin production in November in Los Angeles.
