Chiller TV’s Slasher renewed for a summer camp-set second season

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I did not like what I saw of the first season of Chiller's first original series SLASHER.

Sure, my expectations were high, but still. Urgh. I enjoyed the cast and the first episode of the series, but it was all downhill from there. I stopped watching the series after episode two or three, but a friend of mine told me I had to keep watching.

I then tuned in for another episode, only to find it was a direct and utter rip-off of the film ROOM, with Brie Larson. I was done after that. Nope. No more SLASHER for me. Until today…

Today we learn that the series has been picked up for a second season and that it is currently filming. Some local paper got the scoop and released a bit of new info on the series.

SLASHER was always meant to be an anthology series so it is said the second season will not be connected to the first. Thank God. That said, the site did post the second season's synopsis as well so you can check that out below.

Just note that this is not an official synopsis just yet. But we'll let you know when it is or isn't confirmed.

SLASHER Season 2 synopsis:

In the second season, a group of young adults return to the summer camp they attended to cover up an accidental crime they committed five years earlier. The group returns to find “new age” modernists living at the camp and later discover the body left behind by their accidental crime is missing. The situation then turns deadly as someone in their group is killed.

The full cast for the second season has not yet been revealed. However, actress Leslie Hope (Jack Bauer's wife on 24) was seen rehearsing a scene. You can check out that pic below.

We will keep you guys up to date on all things SLASHER because, even though the first season dropped the ball time and time again, I think the series could be f*cking stellar if they get the right creative team behind the scenes this time around.

SLASHER Season One synopsis:

Thirty years ago, in the sleepy community of Waterbury, a killer known as "The Executioner" murdered Sarah Bennett's parents. Now Sarah (Katie McGrath) and her husband Dylan (Brandon Jay McLaren) have returned to town, only to find herself the centerpiece in a series of horrifying murders centered around the seven deadly sins. It seems "The Executioner" is back. But if Tom Winston – the original Executioner – is behind bars, who is the new person behind the mask? As the murders escalate, long-buried secrets are revealed, making everyone around Sarah a suspect…or a victim.

SLASHER featured Katie McGrath (see below), Brandon Jay McLaren, Steve Byers, Dean McDermott and Wendy Crewson.
