Could this be the plot of The Twilight Zone movie?

In a new article chronicling the rising trend of time-travel movies, Vulture may have inexplicably revealed the plotline to the new TWILIGHT ZONE movie.

The film’s premise will break from the episodic nature of the classic TV show (and subsquent 1980s anthology-style adaptation), instead opting for a single-narrative story that follows a test pilot who winds up breaking the speed of light; when he puts down his craft, he discovers that he’s landed a bit late for supper — 96 years late.

The script was last tackled by Tony Peckham, working from a previous draft by Jason Rothenberg. While the film is designed to contain a lone narrative thread, it is expected to incorporate many iconic tropes from the TWILIGHT ZONE television series. Keep in mind, however, that director Matt Reeves recently departed the project for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, so the future of THE TWILIGHT ZONE movie is currently in question.

In my opinion, that may be for the best. Though it’s easy to appreciate the script trying to go a different direction from previous franchise updates, do you guys think we really need another TWILIGHT ZONE film at this stage of the game? Talk back with your opinion below…
