Filming wraps on Monster Hunter with Milla Jovovich & Ron Perlman

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson's upcoming live-action feature based on the MONSTER HUNTER video game franchise has been filming over the past few months with a killer cast including Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, Ron Perlman, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Tip "T.I." Harris, and Meagan Good. And today we have word that filming has officially wrapped! The update comes to us via Jovovich over on Instagram, where the actress writes:

Well, that’s a picture wrap! Get ready for it cause this is a long post. What an unforgettable experience this has been, meeting some amazing humans, traveling to some of the most unearthly locations. Everyone worked so hard, this was definitely one of the most challenging films I’ve ever made which says a lot, but we all got through it as a team and some of the relationships I’ve made here will hopefully last a lifetime. Thank you to my amazing husband for making this film a reality. You worked harder than anyone baby! Thank you to our INCREDIBLE crew! Without your tireless efforts and long hours, this would not be possible. Thank you to our military advisor, Ranger, Captain Natalie Mallue and her awesome husband Major Ed Mallue. Without the two of you kicking my butt and constantly inspiring me, Captain Artemis would not have come to life the way she has. And last but definitely not least, thank you to all the wonderful, talented actors who came aboard to bring life to these characters! I love you guys and can’t wait to see you all again soon!!

She wrote more and you can check out her full post embedded below. Here's the film synopsis:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.

Jovovich stars as Captain Natalie Artemis, a member of a United Nations military team and she's joined by Tony Jaa as a character known only as "The Hunter" and is described as "one of many skilled warriors that fight giant monsters." The film is being produced by Anderson, Dennis Berardi, Jeremy Bolt, and Ken Kamins along with Impact Pictures and Constantin Film. There's isn't currently a release date for the film, but we'll keep you guys up-to-date during post-production and make sure to pass along word as we hear it. Stay tuned and let us know how excited you are for the film below!
