First trailer for Escape from Tomorrow shows the dark side of Disney

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Earlier this month we brought you the groovy first poster for the Sundance surprise ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW, the film that was shot 'guerilla style' on location at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland without permission from The Walt Disney Company that many suspected would never be seen outside of the festival. We then learned that the film is scheduled for a release in theaters day-and-date with VOD on October 11, so unless Disney decides to file a suit to block it from happening, it looks like we'll finally get to check out ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW next month. We'll see.

Until then, we've got this creepy little trailer for the flick for you to peep, and I gotta say that I'm even more surprised that Disney didn't flip their shite over this: many of the theme parks biggest attractions are front and center in this trailer which appears to give these magical fun parks a very sinister slant. Now I'm really intrigued by this film.

The film stars Roy Abramsohn, Elena Schuber, and Katelynn Rodriguez and has the following synopsis:

An epic battle begins when a middle-aged American husband and father of two learns that he has lost his job. Keeping the news from his nagging wife and wound-up children, he packs up the family and embarks on a full day of park hopping amid enchanted castles and fairytale princesses.

Soon, the manufactured mirth of the fantasy land around him begins to haunt his subconscious. An idyllic family vacation quickly unravels into a surrealist nightmare of paranoid visions, bizarre encounters, and an obsessive pursuit of a pair of sexy teenage Parisians.

ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW hits limited theaters and VOD on October 11 2013.
