Out of the Dark

Back in August, Vertical Entertainment snatched up the U.S. rights to Lluís Quílez’s supernatural thriller OUT OF THE DARK, and now we’ve got the film’s first international trailer to share with you. While the trailer is a bit rough around the edges, the film itself looks pretty damn creepy. Check it out below!

“Out of the Dark is much more than it seems on the surface. We think it will surprise genre fans with its ability to reach beyond just the scares and great storytelling and have a thought-provoking motif that will stay with them well after they see it,” says Vertical Entertainment’s Rich Goldberg.

Starring Julia Stiles, Scott Speedman, and Stephen Rea, OUT OF THE DARK is about:

Sarah Harriman’s (Stiles) family has relocated from London to a small town in Colombia to take over her father’s business. Moving into a beautiful old home and having her father nearby, their new life in Santa Clara seems like a promising place to raise their young daughter Hannah. But Sarah and her husband, Paul (Speedman), soon learn of an ancient legend that haunts the town and has created a culture where ghosts have become the answer to anything that goes wrong.

As they settle into their new surroundings Hannah begins to act strangely, wandering off into the jungle as if following something, and suddenly falls ill. When Sarah and Paul begin to see disfigured ghost-like creatures around the house Hannah disappears, sending them on a frantic search to find her. As they delve deeper into the town’s superstitions they discover a shocking secret about their family and must uncover the truth in order to save their daughter

The film was executive produced by Jeff Skoll, Jonathan King, Roy Azout, and Nick Spicer; produced by Belén Atienza, Cristian Conti, Enrique López Lavigne, and Andrés Calderón from a screenplay by Alex Pastor, David Pastor, and Javier Gullón; and was directed by Lluís Quílez.
