Hallucinatory trailer for Tribeca Film Fest entry Beyond the Black Rainbow

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Looking like it’s been transported directly from my most surreal nightmares, the trailer for BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW has arrived for your tripped-out viewing pleasure. The debut film from Panos Cosmatos (son of George P. Cosmatos, director of COBRA and LEVIATHAN among other genre titles) will have its premiere at the Triibeca Film Festival this month. Also got the weird one-sheet, which certainly has a throw-back feel, as does the preview.

The synopsis, via Tribeca’s official site: Set in a futuristic 1983, Elena finds herself held against her will in a mysterious facility under the watchful eye of the sinister Dr. Barry Nyle. Pushed to her limits, Elena is left with no choice but to navigate an escape from her labyrinthine prison, in the process revealing its hidden secrets.

Though the trailer only hints at what Elena finds, I’m already compelled to put this one on my must-see list. Hopefully some release info heads our way soon after the Tribeca showings. To learn more about when and where it’s playing, click HERE.
