Three more have been added to the cast of director Joe Berlinger's EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL, AND VILE, which tells the story of real life serial killer Ted Bundy from the perspective of his longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer,

who allegedly had no knowledge of the murders while they were together but saw her boyfriend become America's most famous killer when his trial was nationally televised.

Zac Efron is playing Bundy, with Lily Collins as Kloepfer. John Malkovich is on board to play Judge Edward Cowart, the man who presided over Bundy's 1979 trial and sentenced him to death.

Now joining the cast are Grace Victoria Cox, who stars in the upcoming Heathers TV series as the character played by Winona Ryder in the original HEATHERS; Angela Sarafyan, who has a role on HBO's Westworld series (pictured above); and Jeffrey Donovan, who starred in the USA Network series Burn Notice.

In EXTREMELY WICKED, Cox plays Carol Daronch, "a girl who survived Bundy's kidnapping attempt and later IDs him in court." Sarafyan is Joanna, a friend of Kloepfer's. "Joanna acts as a support system for Elizabeth and is the reason she starts to finally question Bundy's intentions." Donovan, who was also in Berlinger's BOOK OF SHADOWS: BLAIR WITCH 2, takes on the role of Utah defense attorney John O'Connell, Bundy's first lawyer.

Financed by Voltage Pictures, the film is being produced by Ara Keshishian, Nicolas Chartier, Michael Costigan, and Michael Simkin. Jonathan Deckter and Jason Barrett serve as executive producers. Michael Werwie wrote the screenplay.

I'm not typically a fan of movies that tell the stories of real life serial killers, but the fact that this one is told from the perspective of Bundy's girlfriend is interesting, and Berlinger's history with the PARADISE LOST documentaries makes him a good fit for this sort of material.

EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL, AND VILE is currently filming in Covington, Kentucky.
